About Jade Carr
I have good connections with the local community with serving in the military and based at the local foundation college. I am keen to get the school on the map and have the schools best interests at heart putting the needs of the pupils first. I have good communication and listening skills and have a fair stance on the outlook of the schools future.
About Michael Harrison
I would like to be considered for the position of parent governor for the Kettlesing Felliscliffe, Beckwithshaw and Ripley Endowed CofE Federation. I have never applied nor have been a parent governor previously but would be keen to be given the opportunity to give our parents a voice and help drive improvements in our schools, so our children have the best education possible. I am a father of three and currently I have one child who is a student at Kettlesing with another child enrolling in September and the youngest following in two years time. I have always been impressed with the care and support the Federation has provided our children and the nurturing environment that smaller village schools can offer. One of our children has Autism and I would be keen to share my experiences dealing with SEND. I am an Emergency Medicine and prehospital Consultant who works at Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust. I am responsible for providing high quality care in our sickest and severely injured adults and children across North and West Yorkshire. Alongside this I’m a senior lecturer in the School of Medicine at then University of Leeds with an interest in assessment and pastoral care. I am a fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) and have strategic role sitting on national steering groups. These help to plan the education, training and workforce for Emergency Medicine.
About Chris Stone
I have worked in the education sector for nearly 21 years, with the last 13 as a senior leader in large secondary schools. I became a teacher, because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of young people, and that drive has not changed. I would welcome the chance to help and support staff and students across the federation as a parent governor and believe I have the right skill set to do this. My daughter is at Beckwithshaw in Year 1 and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to her school, despite challenges in staffing that the school has managed really well. Because of this I feel even stronger that it is right to want to give something back.
