Welcome to Class 1
This term the Year Ones, will be focusing on Geography and answering the big question – “What is it like to live in Shanghai?” In DT this half term we will be looking at different fruits and how we can juice and cut them to make our very own smoothies! In English we will be looking at different kinds of celebrations -birthdays, Diwali, bonfire night and Christmas. In Maths, in Year 1, will be finishing our work on Addition and Subtraction moving on to geometry – looking at different shapes.
In Reception this half term we will be focusing on different celebrations from around the world. We will be looking at how people celebrate different celebrations and recreating some of our own! The children will be continuing with their phase 2 phonics and begin to hear some sounds in the words they are beginning to write. In Maths we will be looking at circles ad triangles, as well as the numbers 1 through to 5 followed by looking at shapes with 4 sides.
